We don't have any entries yet for this page, but Dick Noble still had the picture below and his son sent it to me with a copy of the back of it so you can match names with the numbered people. If you can identify any of the other people in the picture, send a note to Richard Adams and it will be added to it. There were no photographs in the annuals from 1926 - 1932, but it's now obvious that pictures WERE taken. If anyone else has a picture from the early days, contact the webmaster and they will be added to the CD-ROM of all the senior and faculty pictures from 1926 - 2007.

Nellie L. (Lorentz) Rasmussen


Nellie L. (Lorentz) Rasmussen was born April 11, 1912 to Newton and Cleo Lorentz in Midvale, ID, the first of six children. She died April 15, 2008 at the age of 96. Nellie resided at Junction City Retirement Center. She loved it there. Nellie was an amazing woman. She taught school for 43 years. She loved teaching and touched the lives of many students. Nellie was a wonderful mother, sister, grandmother, friend, cousin and a greatly loved aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was Grandma Great to seven. She never forgot anyone's birthday, always sending a card and giving a call. Nellie always had an open heart and a caring ear to anyone in need of a little kindness. She always saw the bright side of everyone. Nellie was a joy to everyone who knew her. She was greatly loved and will be sorely missed.

Nellie is survived by two daughters, Kay Johnson of Eugene, OR and Ann Stults of Roseburg, OR; two sisters: Wilma Monty (Wayne) of Payson, AZ, Freda Loyd of Boise, ID; one brother, Ray Lorentz (Mary) of Springfield, two grandsons: Doug Luke (Sonjya) of Monroe, OR, Jon Stults (Karissa) of Medford; Seven great grand children: Mike and Chet Brockman of Harrisburg, Josh Stults (Chanelle) of Roseburg, Mandie Stults, Ellenwood (Caylin) of Winston, OR, Fletcher, Hayden and Brennan Stults of Medford. Also many greatly loved nieces, nephews cousins and friends. Nellie was preceded in death by her husband, Darwin in 1985; brother Bob Lorentz and sister Mary Houts, a grandson Lee Stults and granddaughter Debi Brockman. Memorial Services were held at Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 29357 Lingo Lane, Junction City 2pm Friday, April 25, 2008, Pastor Bruce Meier. There was a viewing prior to the service at Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City from10-1:00pm, April 25. Memorials may go to the Shepherd of the Valley Lutheran Church, 29357 Lingo Lane, Junction City, 97448 to the building fund, or a charity of your choice.

Emma (Olson) Louk
COTTAGE GROVE — The funeral was held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, at Smith-Lund-Mills Funeral Chapel in Cottage Grove for Emma Marie Louk of Cottage Grove, who died Aug. 3 of age-related causes. She was 97.
She was born March 10, 1913, in St. Helens, Wash., to Anton and Anna Fauske Olson. She married Edgar Louk on April 7, 1934, in Springfield. He died in 1966.
She graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1930. She worked as a secretary for Pleasant Hill Elementary School from 1966 to 1978. Survivors include two sons, Arthur of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho, and Fred of Poquoson, Va.; a daughter, DeAnna Conley of Cottage Grove; a brother, Robert Olson of Eugene; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Burial was at Mount Vernon Cemetery in Springfield. In lieu of flowers, remembrances to Hospice of Sacred Heart in Eugene.

Bill Wiebke (class of 1940 ), was able to identify four more people in this picture. Those are the numbers in red. 24 is Irv Ferguson (Irwin, 1931), 25 is Zella Mauney (1933), 26 is Wayne Ferguson (1931), and 27 is Gordon Jacobs (1933). Bill also reports that #6, Bill Copeland (1934), later married Sue Weiss (perhaps Lorraine Weiss, 1938?)
