Muriel June (Chetwood) Staley
Murriel June (Chetwood) Staley was born on July 6, 1923 in Bend, OR. She went to be with her Lord and Savior on January 6, 2016 at the age of 92. She is survived by her husband Thomas H. Staley, and their 6 children, Floyd, Clyde, David, Jeanette, Jim, and Thomas II.
June grew up in Lane County and attended London grade school, Springfield high, and graduated from Pleasant Hill High in 1942 with the honor of Valedictorian. There she met the "love of her life" Tom Staley, and they were married on May 27, 1942, Tom went directly into the Army and served in England during WWII. She always wanted to be a teacher, and she was a very good one with her own children.
She raised her children in church.
June was an accomplished accountant and tax consultant.
She especially loved gardening, hunting, and camping.
She leaves many beautiful memories with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Celebration of Life will be held in Bend, Jan 30, @1pm, VFW hall.

A celebration of life was from noon to 3 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at VFW Post 3965 in Springfield, for Duane Chambers of Springfield, who died Oct. 10, 2009, of age-related causes. He was 84. A graveside service with military honors will be at noon Wednesday, Oct. 21, at the Willamette National Cemetery in Portland.
He was born June 5, 1925, in Woodbine, Iowa, to James and Irene Cross Chambers. He married Helen Clemens March 9, 1957, in Reno, Nev. She died Feb. 20, 1987.
He served in the U.S. Army in World War II, and participated in the Battle of the Bulge. He later worked as a truck driver.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane Mathis of Springfield; two sons, Gary Chambers of Lebanon and Ronald Chambers of Roseburg; three stepsons, Larry Hayes of Lake Oswego, Rick Hayes of Eugene and Norval Hayes of Springfield; a brother, Dale Chambers of Glendale, Ariz.; and 19 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
