[May 28, 2010] Letha Mae (Chetwood) Walker A memorial service was held Saturday, May 29, 2010, at Lowell Kindom Hall of Jehovah's Witneses for Letha Mae "June" (Chetwood) Walker of Lowell who died May 21, 2010, of age-related causes. She was 85. She was born August. 30, 1924, in Wendling, to Lowell and Alice Dickens Chetwood. She graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1943 and earned several certificates from Lane Community College. Her "senior" picture at the left is actually from her junior year. The 1943 annual lists her name as a graduate but no senior picture is there. She was a homemaker, worked in a shipyard in Portland during World War II, and split old-growth logs along docks in Washington. Survivors include a son, Donavan Olney of Oakridge; a daughter, Dianna Wilson of West Fir; a sister, June Staley of Eugene, and four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Arrangements were by Buell Funeral Chapel in Springfield, with remembrances to Worldwide Work of Jehova's Witnesses. |

Gloria (Schrenk) Gee
A memorial service was held September 8, 2005, for Gloria Blanche "Goldy" Schrenk Gee, who died on September 4th of cancer. She was 79 "Then" picture is Gloria as a junior in 1942. No senior picture appears in the 1943 annual. |

[January 11, 2008] Loretta (Stevens) Rhinevault The graveside service was held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 12, 2008, for Loretta Stevens Rhinevault of Wapato, Washington, formerly of Lane County. She died January 6th of chronic obsturctive pulmonary disease at age 82. She was born Nov. 26, 1925, in Wendling to Lawrence and Edna Warner Stevens. She married Ivan "Plug" Rhinevault in November 1942 in Lane County [editor's note. I think this was her senior year at PHHS and so am assigning 1943 as her class year. Any help or pictures from 1943 people?]. She attended high school in Pleasant Hill. She owned and operated the Pow-Wow Emporium in Toppenish, Washington and worked in electronics assembly in Grants Pass. Survivors include a daughter, Mitzie Antone of Wapato; a sister, Eunice Baker of Laguna Woods, California; a brother, Dwane Stevens of Albany; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. Her husband and a daughter, Dianne, died previously. Arrangements were by Merritt Funeral Home in Wapato. "Then" picture at left is Loretta's junior photo. No senior picture appears in the 1943 annual. |
