    Marcelyn Anne "Nancy" (Bridges) Lyford
    Marcelyn Anne "Nancy" Lyford passed away March 26, 2010 at the age of 83. She was born July 1, 1926 in Norwalk, California to Ned and Agnes Bridges. She married Bob Lyford April 10, 1943, in Waldport, Oregon, and lived in this area for 67 years. Her husband survives her and she was preceded in death by her daughter, Shelley Anne, in 1970. A Memorial service was held April 10, 2010, at Rest-Haven Memorial Park Funeral Chapel, Eugene.
    Nancy graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1944 and worked as a sales associate for Kaufman Borothers Department Store while attending the University of Oregon. She cherished her Scottish heritage and often told stories about her mother's daily tea time in the afternoons and the etiquette she learned from that. Nancy's beauty and sense of style led to a part-time modeling career. She married and raised a daughter, Shelley.
    Nancy volunteered at the Easter Seals pool for many years, and was the main caregiver for her beloved father, Ned, who lived a long and vibrant life. She loved gardening, especially red geraniums. She enjoyed traveling to sunny locations like Hawaii and southern California. Nancy was knowledgeable about civic causes and current events, and discussed these topics with intelligence and wit. Always rooting for the Ducks, she was also an avid sports fan. Nancy made friends wherever she went. Her family and friends will remember her with love.

    Alma (Humphrey) Radich

    A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011 at Lowell Grange in Lowell, for Alma G. Radich of Eugene, who died Aug. 13 of age-related causes. She was 85.

    She was born Dec. 23, 1925, in Jasper, to Ross and Lucy Ruthven Humphrey. She married Jack Radich on June 12, 1963, in Lewiston, Idaho. He died Oct. 30, 2000.

    She graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1944. She worked as a bartender at Fall Creek Tavern and was a homemaker. She retired in 1973.

    Survivors include two daughters, Linda Jones of Springfield and Terri Nordahl of Springfield; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grand-children. Her husband; a son, Rex Witt; a daughter, Pamela Erickson; and a grandson, Mark Jones, died previously.

    Yvonne (Murphy) Seavey

    An urn committal service was held Dec. 22, 2005, for Yvonne Seavey of La Pine, who died Dec. 17, 2005 of age-related causes. She was 81.

    She was born Sept. 20, 1924, in Fall Creek, to Ray and Luella Morehouse Murphy. She married William Seavey on July 9, 1949, in Eugene. He died July 3, 1958.

    She graduated from Pleasant Hill High School in 1944 and attended college for a year. She worked as a bookkeeper for the Pleasant Hill School District for more than 20 years until retiring in 1987. She enjoyed reading, spending time with her grandchildren, gardening and crocheting.

    Survivors include three daughters, Nancy Zeigler and RaeAnn Finelli, both of La Pine, and Ellen Thimmes of Escondido, Calif.; a brother, Don Murphy of Cranston, R.I.; seven grandchildren; and two great- grandchildren.

    Thursday's service was held at 1:00 p.m. in Rest-Haven Memorial Park in Eugene. Baird Memorial Chapel in La Pine was in charge of arrangements. There were about 25 of us in the rain and many people told of how dependable and cheeful Yvonne was all throughout her life. At the closing, a mighty gust of wind reminded us all of the breath of fresh air she was.

    Naomi (Parr) Luce

    PLEASANT HILL — A memorial service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, 2009, at Restoration Fellowship in Springfield for Naomi F. Luce of Pleasant Hill. She died Feb. 3, 2009, of Alzheimer’s disease at age 82.

    She was born June 6, 1926, in Cottage Grove to Otho and Annie Westlake Parr. She married Allan Luce on Oct. 17, 1953 in Bend.

    She graduated from high school in 1944. She worked as a welder in shipyards during World War II and as a bank teller and schoolteacher. She was a homemaker.

    Survivors include her husband; three sons, Kenneth Williams of Eugene, David Luce of Pleasant Hill and Timothy Luce of Springfield; two daughters, Margurite Anderson of Yuma, Ariz., and Carrie Jones of Pleasant Hill; five siblings, Vernon Parr, Wanita Smith and Phyllis Wilson, all of Pleasant Hill, Ron Parr of Portland and Shirley Dilley; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

    Carl Smith

    Carl Eugene Smith of Pleasant Hill, Oregon passed peacefully on March 14, 2013. Carl was born in Sedan, Kansas on July 14, 1926 to parents Carl & Viva Smith.

    Carl attended Pleasant Hill High School and graduated in 1944 after 3 years. He was drafted by the US Army and served in Okinawa and Korea during WWII. Carl's working career started with Kimball Brothers Lumber Mill then with Bohemia Lumber Company and retired from Weyerhaeuser in 1991.

    Carl is survived by his childhood sweetheart Rose, they were married on January 30 1947 and have enjoyed 66 years of marriage; 3 children: Stan and Nancy Smith of West Linn, Faye and Darrell Haberman of Fernley, NV, and Dan and Raema Smith of Pleasant Hill; grandchildren: Ashlee, Zachary, Kyler, Aimee, Christa, Justin, Parker, Allison; and 7 great-grandchildren.

    Carl is also survived by brothers Paul, Albert, Larry, and sister Dola.

    Carl loved his family very deeply. He enjoyed attending all of his grandchildren's school and sporting events. For many years Carl coached youth baseball and basketball, touching the lives of many youth of Pleasant Hill. Carl enjoyed many outdoor activities and loved raising cattle on their ranch. Carl served many years as maintenance manager for the Pleasant Hill Cemetery where he will be laid to rest.

    Carl was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist church; his faith comforts us all in his passing.

    A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 23 at 2:00pm in the Pleasant Hill High School Gym with refreshments following. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to either the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church "Youth Group" or Pleasant Hill Booster Club "Baseball Program"

    Wayne Tucker
    A memorial service was held April 10, 2010, at the Drain Church of Christ for Wayne Tucker of Creswell, who died March 30, 2010, of age-related cuses. He was 86.
    He was born January 19, 1924, in Goshen to Leo and Beatrice Livingston Tucker.
    He married Barbara Partridge on March 18, 1949, in Goshen. She died April 1, 1976.
    He married Laverne Motsinger on May 5, 1979 in Fall Creek. She died on October 27, 2004.
    He married Jean Foster in May 2006 in Glenwood.
    He attended Pleasant Hill High School, as part of the class of '44, but he joined the navy to serve during World War II. His freshman picture from 1941 is at left.
    Survivors include his wife,; a son, Riley of Eugene; three stepsons, Bill "Butch" Farley of Creswell, Dennis Motsinger of Portland, and Jeff Motsinger of Portland; three stepdaughters, Lynn "Evelynn" Farley of Glenwood, Judy Matthews of Mohawk, and Diane Motsinger of Lowell; 11 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
    A son, Steve, died previously.
    Arangements were by Andreason's Cremation and Burial Service in Springfield. Remembrances to American Cancer Society.

    The "Then" picture on the left is from 1941 in Wayne's freshman year. He looks very mature to be a freshman and so he may have left for the navy very early.
