Message: Much has happened since we graduated in '73. I have had many adventures, some great and some very hard... but there is so much of life one needs to live. I believe in pursuing one's dreams. At almost 60 years old I have been learning that it is better to do what you love to do even if you have to struggle financially than to work at a good-paying job that you hate. I have found my life so different than I ever dreamed, yet very fullfilling. I now live by a lake in Tenino, WA and I am working at publishing some of my photography. I am learning to be creative in reaching my goals. Hopefully by 2013 at our 40-year class reunion, I will be able to say I reached my goal. I believe that where there is a will, there is some way to accomplish what you want, if you are willing to persevere. I would love to hear from folks...I hope you write to me. updated 7/17/13

Tijeras, NM 87059
Marital Status: Married to Diane Roberston (Jenkins), for 13 years.
Children: One daughter, Sarah, born 7/95, the brightest point in our life.
Occupation: Owner of a small consulting firm specializing in Radio Frequency Engineering, Cell Phone systems, etc.
Comments: After graduation from PHHS, I joined the navy for 6 years and learned my life's occupation, radio electronics. Visited/worked in various countries in the Navy, but when 6 was finished, I was ready to become a civilian again. Moved to Socorro, New Mexico, 1980, to work at a radio astronomy facility, the VLA (Very Large Telescope Array, as seen in the movie Contact, with Jodie Foster), for 4 years, and then took a job in Egypt for a year after divorce from my first wife. When I returned to Socorro, I started teaching fencing (the sport) at New Mexico Tech and met my second wife, Diane. We've been married 13 years. I have worked overseas quite a bit, Italy, Morocco, Egypt, Argentina, Mexico, Saudi, but when our daughter, Sarah, was born in July 1995, I decided I wanted to be more of a family man. Moved to Albuquerque in 1995 for a more stable job, but that is a farce in today's corporate world, so went to work for myself in 2000. Although work has been slow in the telecom industry for the last few years, I vastly prefer working for myself.
Is there anyone from '73 who hasn't put on a ton of weight? If so, what is your secret! I've gained 50 lbs since HS. Hope to hear from PHHSers from '73' or close-by years!! - Regards Mark Jenkins

Marina, California
Marital Status: married
Children: 2 daughters, one 23 and the other 13.
Occupation: Systems Technician with Pacific Bell for the last 24 years.
Comments: Last summer while on vacation in Oregon, I walked the hallways of the old school with my youngest daughter, telling her stories of my experiences at the school. She is good at humoring me. I see that only one alumnus from my class has submitted anything, so it appears that I am going to be the second to represent that year. I joined the Air Force shortly after graduation and I never went back to the Pleasant Hill area. It seems that part of my heart never left. I have discovered that threads of experience, like threads of sweater, once pulled out can't be returned. Often I wonder about my former classmates and where their experiences have taken them. Anyway, I thought I would say hi and wish you well. I still remember making peanut brittle in the chemistry class. [July 1, 2004]

Marital Status: Married 18 years to Jim
Children: one child - Lindsay Rachelle (born 8/88)
Occupation: Semi-retired after 26 years in the telecommunications industry. History: I moved from Eugene to Portland with Pacific Northwest Bell (PNB) in 1979. In 1983, I moved to Bellevue WA with PNB which soon became US West Communications. Two years later, I finally met someone and married. In 1992, I transferred over to the cellular side of the phone business and endured 3 more mergers until finally semi-retiring in 2003 from Verizon Wireless. Semi-retired? Yes, I would like to retire but I like working (silly me) so its off to work again after a 6-12 month sabbatical. I have one lovely daughter, Lindsay (named after Lindsey Williams), that towers 6 inches over me and wants to attend $college$ in a few years (okay, that's the other reason to go back to work). In the mean time, I enjoy working on our 7 acres in Issaquah WA with my husband of 18 years and look forward to completing my MBA in Information Systems. It's been 30 years since I've walked the halls of Pleasant Hill High and often wonder what happened to so many of my friends. Best wishes and regards to all those who pass this way a read this message from an 'ol friend.
