I am currently working full time as a Marketing and Communication Manager for a start up security and anti-terrorism company in Portland, OR. I am also attending school full time at Marylhurst University. I was accepted into their 18-month accelerated Executive MBA program in January 2008.
My husband and I have a 3 years old daughter who keeps us very busy and who we, of course, adore. The rest of my time is spent training for and running marathons and half marathons. I am also an assistant coach with the Portland Fit marathon training program. I completed my first marathon, the Portland Marathon, in 2006 and am now training for my 4th marathon, the Eugene Marathon, which will be held May 5, 2008. I am hoping for a Boston Marathon Qualifying time at this event. Marathon training has truly become my passion. I will continue to train for other marathons after the Eugene Marathon but am planning to add some triathlon training and events as well. [March 26, 2008]

Message: Life has been very busy since high school. On Sept 11, 2001 I was at the airport embarking on a study abroad adventure to London that was tragically delayed by certain events...In 2003, I graduated from OSU with an honors degree in Zoology and a couple of minors in chemistry and anthropology. The weekend after graduation I married my best friend, Alex, in a beautiful ceremony in Pleasant Hill. And then, in August, we moved all of our stuff to Minneapolis where I started medical school. If a new marriage and medical school weren't enough to keep us on our toes...then the arrival of our son Nate in October 2005 pretty much sealed the deal. I took 6 months off of my clinical rotations to play stay at home mom and study for the first part of my boards. Since then we have been moving full speed ahead! While I originally thought I would be a pediatrician I have now decided to go into Child and Adolescent Psychiatry...a field that is in desperate need of doctors right now. I am on track to receive my MD in December 2007 and begin my psychiatry residency at the University of Minnesota the next month. Eventually we plan to move back to Oregon...we definitely miss the temperate climate when it hits -20 here in the winter...but for now we are enjoying the excitement that comes with living in the Twin Cities!
