Ms. Tubman Receives Murdoch Grant!
Our own Pleasant Hill High School Science teacher Danielle Tubman
has been awarded the
MJ Murdoch “Partners in Science” research grant.
This grant is designed to help high school science teachers work with mentors, conducting cutting-edge research.
Ms. Tubman will be working alongside Dr. Andy Berglund, who is a professor of Chemistry and Bio-Chemistry at the University of Oregon. The research will involve studying how toxic RNA is involved with a type of dystrophy.
The purpose of the grant is to bring the knowledge from the research lab back into the high school science classroom, promoting hands-on science education. It allows teachers who have been accepted into the program to bring real and recent science back to our classrooms, as well as providing money for our science classrooms!
Congratulations Ms. Tubman!
