Who Are the Pleasant Hill Boosters?
Who are we?
The Pleasant Hill Booster Club is a non-profit organization consisting of volunteers that support ALL STUDENT ATHLETES in ALL SPORTS. The Booster Club is an extension of the school and was established to encourage community participation and to raise funds for ALL PHHS athletic programs on campus. Working in cooperation with the school, the Booster Club augments the available school budget to help ensure that ALL athletic teams have the equipment and facilities needed to compete.
What is our mission?
The Pleasant Hill Booster Club is a non-profit organization comprised of dedicated parents, guardians, alumni, coaches, school administrators, and community members who have these common objectives:
Help maintain and improve athletic facilities at Pleasant Hill Schools.
Support athletics to enhance the students' overall school experience, encouraging leadership, teamwork, and participation, while learning important life skills.
Support, recognize, and provide opportunities to students and teams.
Award annual scholarships to deserving senior students.
Assist in building team spirit, school spirit, and sense of pride.
What did the Booster Club do for our sports program last year?
In 2012-2013, the Club logged 2,642 volunteer hours by 225 volunteers.
All Booster Club contributions go directly back into the Pleasant Hill Community programs for athletic equipment and upgrading gear, sponsoring events, and giving out several scholarships to graduating seniors along with building a new all-weather sports complex (track and turf).
The Track & Turf total project cost was $1,513,981. The Track & Turf Facility Project was funded by private fundraising and no Pleasant Hill School District #1 funds were used.
In April 2012, fundraising began. The Club has held multiple fundraising efforts as well, and has received $1,373,981 in donations, fundraising and grants. Boosters are actively reducing the loan balance of $140,000 with current fundraising efforts, along with grant requests from foundations and donors.
As shown above, a great deal of support has been raised, totaling nearly $1.4 million in private donations, fundraisers and grants in the last 17 months.
In addition, the PHHS Booster Club raised funds to support Cheer, Baseball, Boys & Girls Basketball, Cross Country, Football, Softball, Track & Field, Wrestling, Volleyball and Soccer. A partial list included over $35,000 for sports equipment and direct program support, renovations and enhancements to the discuss area and grandstand sound system, new computerized timing system for track, spirit wear for champions and fans, senior & athletic scholarships, and the list goes on and on…
It takes a lot of resources to get it done!
Why should I join and support Booster Club?
Supporting the Booster Club helps ALL of our student athletes to pursue the sports that they love to play while keeping out of pocket sports expenses low AND you help continue the tradition of PHHS Athletics.
And if that is not reason enough, joining is a great way to meet other parents, earn those valuable volunteer hours and have fun while doing so. To raise funds, the club organizes and manages various activities.
These include track & turf signs, alumni weekend & events, scrap metal drive, apparel sales, auction, and concessions.
We appreciate your monetary donations throughout the year, but WE NEED VOLUNTEERS TO HELP US RUN THESE EVENTS.
